Norton Ghost

Creating a norton boot disk

I recommend if you want to back up your computer you make the image or clone in a dos mode

  1. go to the start menu in the left hand corner of the screen

  2. next got to programs

  3. Open norton system works

  4. in the norton menu open the Ghost menu

  5. next you want to go to the utilities page and select the options to make a boot disk

  6. There are several options you will most likely want to pick the first option (standard boot disk)

  7. The next window asks about different items that you might want to have supported for use when you make the back-up of your drive (if you have a usb mouse you will need usb support and if your making the image to a cd you will need to get cd-rom support)

  8. next 9is the location of the file on your hard drive you'll just click thru this

  9. You'll insert you 3 1/2 floppy disk into the drive and click next

  10. it wll bring up a screen to format the disk click ok

  11. after the disk is formatted you'll have to click close

  12. it will start copying the files the you'll need to the disk and will tell you when it is completed
